Sentinel is unlike any other Maximo monitoring solution as it monitors a Maximo system’s availability, functionality and performance from both the users’ and the underlying systems’ perspectives. Sentinel for Maximo is designed to minimize performance and instability problems.
 
Response times can be monitored from anywhere within your organization, or in the world. Any and all Maximo system components are monitored at the same time (operating system, database server, Maximo server, web server, etc.) and both sets of information are correlated, in real-time, within the Sentinel GUI.

When a problem occurs, an organization’s support team are immediately alerted, and using the Sentinel GUI can quickly understand what the problem is, and its root cause (why it is happening).

This significantly reduces issue resolution timescales and, as Sentinel can also proactively alert about problems that have yet to affect the user community, also reduces Maximo system downtime and increases user satisfaction.

When Sentinel is purchased as a service, another key difference is that you do not pay for every business transaction you wish to monitor; every step in every important transaction is monitored.  This means there is no chance of a problem going undetected.
