There are three licensable components of StressTester™:

StressTester™ Controller and Virtual Users

The StressTester™ Controller allows you to record and configure User Journeys (simulated business transactions), configure and execute performance tests, and analyze test results.

In order to use StressTester™, you must purchase at least one Controller license. The base Controller license includes the ability to simulate up to 25 concurrent users.

In order to simulate higher numbers of concurrent users, simply purchase the Controller with the required number of Virtual Users included.

Our fair licensing policy means that anyone who purchases or rents the Controller with 20,000 Virtual Users is automatically ugpraded to our Controller with Unlimited Virtual Users, allowing simulation of as many users as required at no additional cost.

StressTester™ Designer

The StressTester™ Designer is a cut-down version of the Controller that allows you to record and configure User Journeys, and run tests simulating up to 5 concurrent users for a short time period.

This license is typically purchased when more than one person will be configuring User Journeys, but only one proper performance test will be executed at any one time (and therefore only one Controller license is required).

Resource Monitor Packs

A Resource Monitor Pack allows you to monitor any number of instances of a technology during a performance test; allowing the performance results to be correlated with system information to identify the cause of poor performance when it is detected.

Resource Monitor Packs exist for all the major operating systems, application environments, web servers, database systems and virtual environments.
